Introduction
Coffee, a dark colored, stimulating drink made from roasted coffee beans, is one of the most popular drinks in the world. In 2020, about 9,980,760,000 grams of coffee was consumed worldwide. Coffee was first cultivated for human consumption in the Middle East, but consumption spread across the world between the fifteenth and seventeenth centuries.
Coffee is typically grown in tropical climates, such as those in South America and Asia. It is grown as a plant, but the fruit is separated from the coffee bean. From there, the beans are harvested and processed, which includes roasting the beans. The processed beans are then shipped, either whole or ground, to be brewed by the customer by filtering hot water through the ground beans.
