Introduction
Gaming is an increasingly popular pastime for people of all ages, and many states in the United States have huge gaming communities. To identify the “Most Gaming Obsessed States”, we analyzed data on six factors—population demographics, number of gaming conventions, number of social gaming groups, average internet download speed, number of residents that have computers, and 5G coverage—in order to find out which state has the best gaming infrastructure. The results were clear: Maryland tops the list as the most gaming-obsessed state!
Maryland scored highest on all six factors, with a diverse population, plenty of gaming conventions and social networking groups, fast internet speeds, high computer ownership rates and great 5G coverage across the entire state. Maryland also has some major advantages when it comes to game development: not only is it home to many start-ups and well-established companies like Bethesda Game Studios and Zenimax Media but it also boasts some world-class universities like the University of Maryland College Park that offer excellent game design programs. As a result of these advantages, Maryland is one of the top destinations for aspiring game developers.
New Jersey follows in second place on our list; despite having slightly lower scores than Maryland in terms of population diversity and 5G coverage they make up for it with more social gamer networks and higher computer ownership rates. Some other notable states that made significant gains are California (ranked 3rd), Texas (4th) and Delaware (5th).
California has seen impressive growth in its gaming industry in recent years due to its large population base which affords them access to a wide variety of gaming conventions offering something for everyone from gamers looking for competitive tournaments to casual players just looking for a good time. Texas on the other hand ranks high largely due to its large numbers of gamers; though their internet speeds are mediocre at best they make up for it by having more social gamers than any other state. Finally, Delaware rounds out our top five thanks to its convenient geographic location between Philadelphia (one of America’s largest cities) and Washington D.C., giving them access to both cities’ expensive gaming scenes while enjoying much lower living costs than those two municipalities.
In conclusion, we can see that Maryland stands head-and-shoulders above every other state when it comes to providing gamers with everything they need: a thriving community filled with people who share their passion for games plus excellent infrastructure support from broadband providers ensuring smooth gameplay no matter where you are!
