According to analysis, Washington is the most expensive state in the nation to buy an engagement ring—at an average price of $10,109. In contrast, South Dakota is the least expensive state for an engagement ring at a much more budget-conscious $3,005.
In second place is California with its pricey rings averaging $9,482 and Illinois takes third with an average of $9,197. Kansas ($8,947) and New Jersey ($8,842) round out the top five most expensive states for a diamond engagement ring.
Though not all states are equal when it comes to purchasing that special sparkly token of love (and financial commitment!), there’s no shortage of options available no matter which part of America you call home—meaning that no matter what your budget may be there’s sure to be something perfect available almost everywhere!
