Introduction

Suicide is an action in which a person deliberately ends their life by killing themselves. This type of action is one that occurs cross-culturally throughout the entire world, and it affects numerous distinct populations of individuals, although some groups more than others. Suicides often involve the use of a weapon, such as a knife or a gun, but they are also caused by overdosing on medication or drugs, and hanging.

Suicides are disproportionately carried out by men, and they’re one of the most frequent causes of human death globally. There are certain risk factors that might make a person more likely to commit suicide, such as mental and physical disorders, substance abuse and withdrawal, prolonged bullying and harassment, the ending of a long-term relationship, and going through extreme hardships in life. One commonality among these risk factors is that people are in situations where they can’t see a viable way out of it due to their limited control of a particular situation regarding the existence of their lives.
