AvePoint launched the AvePoint Trust Platform to govern, secure and optimize enterprise AI. The company also expanded discovery capabilities to include agents built on Anthropic Claude and connected Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers.

Why it matters

According to AvePoint's State of AI 2026 Report, 88.4% of organizations experienced at least one AI agent-related security incident in the previous 12 months. As organizations accelerate adoption of autonomous agents, challenges around access permissions, data exposure, accountability and operational oversight are growing.

The platform combines four capabilities: observing AI activity, protecting environments, governing access and permissions, and optimizing AI investments, and it operates regardless of cloud infrastructure, AI model or service provider. Its discovery features identify agents, models, tools and MCP servers, including shadow AI and agents without assigned ownership.

The players

AvePoint

AvePoint is a Singapore-listed enterprise data management and governance company that serves more than 28,000 organizations.

Anthropic

Anthropic is an AI safety company that develops the Claude family of AI models.

The details

The platform provides centralized visibility into AI agents, models and connected tools, with governance controls, security monitoring and cost management. It includes recovery capabilities that can return Microsoft Copilot Studio agents to a previously established, known-good state, and AvePoint is expanding tools for monitoring AI consumption, managing budgets and assessing AI investment value.

Timeline

  1. November 3, 2026: AvePoint announces the launch of the AvePoint Trust Platform.

The Tech Race

The launch fits a race among enterprise software vendors to supply governance layers for autonomous agents built on protocols such as Model Context Protocol (MCP). AvePoint's expansion to Anthropic Claude agents shows vendors moving to cover multiple model providers rather than a single ecosystem.

Organizations deploying AI agents may face new decisions about access permissions, ownership of agents and budgets for AI consumption. The platform's recovery features aim to let teams roll back Microsoft Copilot Studio agents when they behave unexpectedly.

The takeaway

Treat AI agents as governed enterprise assets from the start, tracking who owns each agent, what it can access and what it costs. Many organizations are already reporting security incidents, so visibility and recovery planning matter as much as deployment speed.
