ZURU has officially launched its Mini Brands Vinyl collection in South Africa. Each blind capsule includes four miniature records and accessories, allowing collectors to enjoy audio clips through a rechargeable record player.

Why it matters

The product range targets the ongoing resurgence of vinyl culture and a growing consumer appetite for nostalgia-led collectables. By miniaturising the physical music experience, the brand aims to appeal to both younger demographics and adult collectors.

The collection features 45 unique tracks to collect, with each capsule containing four miniature records and a crate. The development of this product line took 2 years to complete.

ZURU

ZURU is a global toy and consumer products company known for manufacturing and marketing collectible brands.

The details

Each pack features miniature vinyl records, a crate, and a keychain attachment, designed to be used with a rechargeable miniature record player. The line includes rare chase items such as gold vinyl records and miniature music trophies to drive engagement through unboxing.

The Mini Brands Vinyl collection launched in South Africa on 14 October 2026.

Industry Dynamics

This release reflects a broader pivot in the toy industry to capitalise on adult-leaning nostalgia trends. By shrinking physical media into collectible items, manufacturers are positioning products to bridge the gap between high-fidelity music culture and the toy market.

South African consumers can now purchase the blind capsule units at local retailers. Fans should note that the record player is a separate component required to hear the audio clips contained on the miniature vinyls.

The takeaway

Collectors should look for the rare gold vinyl chase items as these will likely carry the highest resale value among enthusiasts. Ensure that your record player is fully charged to maintain consistent audio playback during your unboxing sessions.
