Ravens Start Joe Fagnano Against Jacksonville
The undrafted rookie, third on Baltimore's depth chart, makes his first NFL start Thursday.
Updated on Nov. 5, 2026 in Football
The Baltimore Ravens have named Joe Fagnano their starting quarterback for Thursday's game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Fagnano threw for 91 yards in Baltimore's loss to Buffalo on Sunday.
Why it matters
The decision puts an undrafted rookie in charge of the offense for a game that can shape Baltimore's standing in the AFC. It also tests a backup who has been third on the depth chart and is now asked to lead the team in a live game.
Fagnano threw for 91 yards against Buffalo on Sunday, the only passing figure available from his limited action. The Ravens' kickoff against Jacksonville is set for 8:15, and the extraction does not indicate how Fagnano's workload will be managed in the game.

Timeline
Sunday: Fagnano threw for 91 yards in the loss to Buffalo.
Thursday, November 5, 2026: The Ravens host Jacksonville, with Fagnano starting, kickoff at 8:15 p.m. local time.
Season Trajectory
Starting an undrafted third-stringer ties into a recurring NFL pattern in which backups are pressed into service during the season. For Baltimore, the game's result will affect how the Ravens position themselves in a competitive AFC race.
Fantasy managers rostering Ravens skill players will need to account for a rookie quarterback at the helm on Thursday. The extraction does not provide projected statistics, so the practical effect on lineups will depend on how the offense is designed around him.
The takeaway
Fagnano's start shows how quickly a depth-chart player can become the focus of a game when the roster demands it. Fans watching Thursday should track how the offense adapts to a quarterback with no prior NFL starts.
What happens next
The Ravens host Jacksonville on Thursday, November 5, 2026, at 8:15 p.m., when Fagnano makes his first NFL start.
