Is now a good time to test furniture in person before purchasing for your home?

Modular sofa retailer 7th Avenue has officially opened its first showroom in Maryland. The new space is located at 830 Aliceanna Street in Baltimore.

Why it matters

This expansion allows local customers to test 7th Avenue furniture in person before making a purchase. The move provides a physical touchpoint for shoppers previously limited to online-only browsing for the company's products.

The new 830 Aliceanna Street showroom spans 1,028 square feet. This location is the first 7th Avenue expansion into the Maryland market.

The players

7th Avenue

7th Avenue is a furniture retailer specializing in modular sofa systems designed with washable covers and hidden storage features.

The details

The showroom displays modular sofas featuring stain-resistant fabrics and removable, machine-washable covers. Shoppers can also experience the functional design elements, including adjustable back cushions and integrated hidden storage.

The 7th Avenue showroom opened for business on October 29, 2026.

Market Landscape

The opening reflects a broader trend of direct-to-consumer digital brands establishing brick-and-mortar showrooms to bolster customer trust. This positioning helps 7th Avenue compete with traditional furniture retailers that rely on the in-person testing experience.

Local shoppers in Baltimore can now visit the Harbor East location to personally inspect sofa fabrics and comfort levels. This reduces the uncertainty often associated with purchasing modular furniture online.

The takeaway

Testing modular furniture in person helps ensure the product fits your home design and comfort needs before finalizing an order. Visiting showrooms remains a practical strategy for verifying the quality of stain-resistant fabrics and hidden storage features.
