Updated on Nov. 3, 2026 in Football
Notre Dame will host four-star 2028 recruit Jayce Halasz for Saturday's game against Miami. The visit is Halasz's first trip to South Bend, and he is flying in from Washington to attend.
Why it matters
Notre Dame is working to raise its standing with Halasz, a prospect who has also been recruited by Oregon. A visit that includes watching quarterback CJ Carr and the Irish could move the program to the top of his list.
Halasz is rated as a four-star prospect and has already recorded a 1,000-yard receiving season. He stands 6-foot-2, and the visit's effect on his decision remains unknown.

The details
Halasz, a wide receiver and defensive back at Graham Kapowsin High in Washington, will watch Notre Dame face Miami on Saturday. Coaches Marcus Freeman, Mike Denbrock and Mike Brown are leading the recruiting effort, and Oregon previously hosted him and his family several times.
Timeline
Saturday: Notre Dame hosts Halasz for the Miami game.
Season Trajectory
Notre Dame must replace Jordan Faison, whose senior status leaves a wide receiver vacancy for the 2028 class. Landing a prospect of Halasz's profile would help the program rebuild its receiving corps.
Halasz's commitment decision could shape the Irish wide receiver depth chart for the 2028 season. Fans can track his recruitment as he weighs Notre Dame against his other finalists.
The takeaway
Recruiting visits like this one often influence where elite prospects sign, so a strong showing against Miami could pay off well beyond Saturday. Readers should watch for Halasz's decision in the months ahead.
