Why it matters

St. Thomas Aquinas took 9 of 12 first-place votes against 3 for IMG Academy, which sits second at 9-0 while Aquinas is 10-0. The poll does not indicate how the rankings will factor into postseason seeding.

Season Trajectory

St. Thomas Aquinas becomes the second team in consecutive seasons to hold the No. 1 spot from preseason through postseason in the Florida poll, following IMG Academy's 2025 run. That pattern signals a sustained concentration of top-tier talent among a small group of programs at the top of the state rankings.

St. Thomas Aquinas holds the top spot heading into the postseason, which affects how the team is seeded and scouted. Fans tracking Florida high school football can use the poll's vote totals to gauge how far ahead the leader sits.
