Market Landscape
This closure reflects a broader industry trend where operators consolidate theater footprints to focus on newer, larger-capacity venues. By streamlining operations in Carlsbad, Cinépolis positions itself to capture local demand at its larger La Costa Town Square site.
Customers in Carlsbad will lose access to the El Camino Real theater starting November 2026, though rewards benefits will remain transferable to other locations. Regular moviegoers should plan to utilize the La Costa Town Square theater for future screenings.
