Mobile Beacon has launched its Connect for Success Fall/Winter Connectivity Grants, offering classrooms and schools four grant options for devices and mobile connectivity. Applications are open until December 31, 2026, and grantees receive two years of BeaconANYWHERE mobile service with unlimited data.
Why it matters
The program now reaches more than 130 markets nationwide after NACEPF spectrum expanded into 80 additional markets, widening access for schools that have struggled to connect students outside the classroom. Applicants must explain how they will reach students and measure the program's impact.
Each grant type carries a fixed allocation: 25 laptops or Chromebooks with hotspots, 10 hotspots supporting up to 10 devices each, or 10 SIM/eSIM cards, all paired with two years of unlimited BeaconANYWHERE service. The total number of awards and overall funding amount were not disclosed.
The players
Mobile Beacon
Mobile Beacon is a connectivity provider that has been supplying mobile service to communities for more than fifteen years and runs the Connect for Success grant program.
The details
Teachers and school administrators in areas covered by NACEPF spectrum may apply for one of four grant options. Schools verify eligibility by entering their zip code on the Connect for Success page, and applicants must describe how the school will reach students and gauge the program's impact.
Timeline
December 31, 2026: Application deadline for Connect for Success grants.
January 2027: Mobile Beacon evaluates submitted applications.
Early February 2027: Mobile Beacon notifies all applicants of grant decisions.
Roadmap
The Connect for Success program follows the school connectivity model established by the federal E-Rate program, which has funded school internet access since 1997. By pairing hardware and unlimited mobile service with its grants, Mobile Beacon extends that support to students who need connectivity beyond the school building.
Schools that want to apply should confirm eligibility by zip code on the Connect for Success page before the December 31, 2026 deadline. Applicants should prepare a written plan explaining how the school will reach students and measure program impact.
The takeaway
Schools with students who lack reliable home internet can use these grants to add devices and unlimited mobile service at no cost. Reviewing the eligibility rules and application requirements early gives schools the best chance to meet the deadline.
What happens next
Mobile Beacon will evaluate applications in January 2027 and notify all applicants in early February 2027, so schools that apply by the December 31, 2026 deadline will receive decisions then.
