Live Poll

Do you plan to watch the Tony Awards on CBS or Paramount+ in 2027?

CBS has extended its broadcast agreement with the Tony Awards through 2032, the network and Tony producers announced. The 80th Annual Tony Awards will air live on CBS and stream on Paramount+ on June 13, 2027.

Why it matters

The extension secures a long-running broadcast home for the Broadway industry's signature awards show, which has aired on CBS since 1978. It gives producers and viewers continuity for the anniversary edition in 2027.

The Tony Awards have been broadcast on CBS for 48 years, first airing in 1978. The current agreement now extends through 2032, while further details on the 2027 telecast remain pending.

Legal Context

CBS has carried the Tony Awards since 1978, and this extension continues a nearly five-decade run that makes the network the show's longtime broadcast home. The deal keeps the Broadway ceremony on a major network rather than moving it to a cable or streaming-only platform.
