Celebrity Cruises opened bookings for the inaugural season of Celebrity Xcite, the sixth ship in its Edge series, which debuts in 2028. The ship's first season features seven-night Caribbean vacations departing from Miami.
Why it matters
The bookings extend Celebrity Cruises' Caribbean lineup, which already includes nine other ships sailing the region. Early reservations give travelers in the United States the chance to plan around the new vessel's debut season.
Celebrity Xcite joins a Caribbean fleet of ten ships, with its inaugural season built around seven-night sailings from Miami. Pricing and cabin counts for the new ship were not provided in the announcement.
The players
Celebrity Cruises

Bookings are being released in phases, with winter 2028-29 Caribbean sailings opening first and summer 2028 itineraries following. Xcite's itineraries rotate among St. Thomas, Antigua, the British Virgin Islands, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Maarten and the Dominican Republic.
Timeline
November 3, 2026: Winter 2028-29 Caribbean sailings open for booking.
December 9, 2026: Summer 2028 itineraries open for booking.
March 2027: The Reflection is scheduled for a refit.

Industry Dynamics
Xcite is the sixth ship in Celebrity Cruises' Edge series, which has grown into the company's main vehicle for expanding its Caribbean fleet. Adding a sixth Edge-class ship signals continued investment in that design as cruise lines compete for Caribbean capacity out of Florida ports.
Travelers planning Caribbean cruises from Miami can book winter 2028-29 sailings now, with summer itineraries opening in December. Early booking may help secure preferred dates on the ship's inaugural season.
The takeaway
Booking early for a new ship's debut season can secure preferred dates and itineraries before demand builds. Travelers interested in Xcite's first sailings should check open winter dates first, since summer 2028 itineraries open later.
What happens next
Summer 2028 itinerary bookings open December 9, 2026, and Celebrity Xcite debuts in 2028.
