Newmen Launches Streem G.48 Carbon Wheelset
The G.48 wheelset from Newmen comes in carbon-spoke and steel-spoke versions, with the carbon model due shortly.
Updated on Nov. 6, 2026 in Cycling

Newmen has launched the Streem G.48 carbon wheelset, offered in carbon-spoke and steel-spoke versions. The company also announced plans to offer the G.48 and G.62 in 28-inch, 30.5-inch and 32-inch sizes.
Why it matters
The launch gives cyclists a lower-priced option within the Streem range, sharing the G.62's rim widths while using a shallower 48mm profile. Both versions use hooked, tubeless-ready rims and the company's Aero Valve System.
The carbon-spoke G.48 uses 21 VONOA spokes and is claimed to weigh 1,400g per set, while the steel-spoke version uses 24 Sapim CX-Ray spokes at a claimed 1,550g. The Aero Valve System is claimed to save approximately 0.5 watts.
The players
Newmen
Newmen is a German cycling component maker that produces wheelsets and related parts for road and gravel bikes.
The details
Carbon-spoke wheelsets are assembled in Kempten, Germany, and feature Newmen's Fade R hub, while steel-spoke models are built in the Czech Republic. Both versions use 12 x 100mm front and 12 x 142mm rear hub dimensions with Centerlock disc mounts.
Timeline
Newmen launched the Streem G.48 on November 6, 2026.
The carbon-spoke G.48 is due shortly after launch.
The steel-spoke G.48 is scheduled to follow in spring 2027.
Roadmap
The G.48 extends Newmen's Aero Valve System, first offered on its premium Streem wheels, into a lower-priced wheelset that shares the G.62's rim widths. The move broadens the Streem range rather than replacing its flagship model.
The carbon-spoke G.48 is priced at £1,499 in the UK, and the steel-spoke version at £1,250 is available later in spring 2027. Riders weighing wheel upgrades can compare the claimed 1,400g and 1,550g set weights against their own build budgets.
The takeaway
Cyclists weighing a Streem upgrade should compare the carbon-spoke and steel-spoke weight and price trade-offs, then check the spring 2027 availability of the steel model before deciding.
What happens next
The steel-spoke Streem G.48 is scheduled to follow in spring 2027, and the larger 28-inch, 30.5-inch and 32-inch sizes are planned for the G.48 and G.62.
