Should coaches prioritize creative player flair over tactical discipline to improve team performance?
Former Orlando Pirates player Thapelo Liau has publicly advocated for the protection of creative players who use dribbling to break down organized defences. He specifically pointed to young talent Mpho Padime as a player who should be encouraged to utilize his skills.
Why it matters
Liau argues that individual flair is essential for penetrating organized teams, claiming that basic trap and pass tactics are often insufficient at the highest level of competition. His comments come amid a debate over the role of showboating in modern professional football.
Mpho Padime, who wears jersey number 38, has recorded three appearances in the Betway Premiership and one appearance in the MTN8 this season.

For fantasy managers and fans tracking the Orlando Pirates, the inclusion of Mpho Padime remains a key rotation point given his four total appearances. His ability to impact the pitch could be pivotal as the club attempts to close the two-point gap currently separating them from the league leaders.
