Steven Novak has transformed his Oak Cliff property into an immersive Halloween display featuring 40 mannequins dressed in hospital gowns. Known as The Rapture, the installation includes specialized lighting and custom audio for visitors.
Why it matters
The artist shifted away from his traditional gore-themed projects to pursue this new vision after his girlfriend discouraged a planned crashed helicopter display. The project serves as a centerpiece for local seasonal tourism in the neighborhood.
The $4,000 installation features 40 mannequins accented by a high-intensity 90,000-lumen light. One mannequin is specifically engineered to oscillate to enhance the display's ambient movement.

Residents and visitors can view the installation at 1414 Lansford Ave in Oak Cliff through the end of November. Guests should be prepared for potential foot traffic and crowd formation in the neighborhood near the residence.
