Timeline
Sunday: Rangers host Oilers at Madison Square Garden
Season Trajectory
The Rangers' three-game skid and loss of their starting goaltender narrow their margin in a crowded Eastern Conference race. McDavid's points streak keeps Edmonton's offense a central storyline heading into the matchup.
The Rangers need results in this game to stop the slide, and Korpisalo's return could provide relief in net. Fantasy managers tracking McDavid should note his points-in-every-game streak.
The takeaway
Goaltending depth often decides close playoff races, and New York's injury situation makes this matchup a useful test of its backup options.
