Hornets Lock In Brandon Miller With Long-Term Deal

The Charlotte Hornets signed Brandon Miller to a long-term contract extension just before the 2026-27 season began. The deal came after the team lost Lamelo Ball and Miles Bridges during the offseason.

Why it matters

The extension signals that Charlotte is building around Miller as the franchise retools its roster. Miller is averaging 23.5 points per game, making him a central piece of the team's rebuilding plan.

Miller is averaging 23.5 points per game this season. His career-high 39-point performance came against the Washington Wizards on Oct. 26.

Roadmap

The extension extends the pattern of Michael Jordan's direct involvement in Hornets personnel decisions since he took ownership of the franchise. It positions Miller as a long-term foundation as Charlotte rebuilds after losing Ball and Bridges.

Miller's long-term deal keeps him as a core scorer for Charlotte's rotation, which matters for fantasy rosters built around his scoring output. The extension also signals that the Hornets are not planning to move their most productive young player.

The takeaway

Charlotte's commitment to Miller shows how the Hornets are building their future around a scorer who has already produced a career-high 39-point game. Fans and fantasy managers should track whether his production holds as the roster changes.
