The Springfield Yardwaste Recycling Center has started a promotional offer for bulk unscreened MoMulch. Residents can receive two additional yards of material for every one cubic yard purchased.
Why it matters
The promotion encourages the use of locally processed wood waste for residential landscaping needs. It provides a cost-effective way for property owners to obtain ground cover while supplies remain available.
The promotion requires a minimum purchase of 1 cubic yard of MoMulch, which is composed of chipped and ground wood waste like limbs and brush. Participants receive 2 free yards for each yard purchased.
The players
Springfield Yardwaste Recycling Center
This facility is managed by the City of Springfield and processes organic material into mulch for local use.
The details
Customers must provide their own transportation for the product, as delivery services are not included in this offer. Payment for the bulk material is accepted at the site via cash, card, or check.
Timeline
The promotion began at the recycling center on October 6, 2026.
The offer is scheduled to conclude on November 28, 2026.
Culture Shift
This promotional effort aligns with the City of Springfield's municipal waste-to-resource diversion program by creating a consumer demand for recycled organic materials. It reflects a broader movement to increase the efficiency of local waste management through circular utility.
Residents can significantly reduce their landscaping expenses by leveraging the bulk deal for large yard projects. Participants must be prepared to haul the mulch themselves immediately upon purchase, as no delivery options are provided.
The takeaway
Homeowners should check their storage capacity for large quantities of mulch before visiting the facility. Because the material must be removed at the time of purchase, having a suitable vehicle is essential for taking advantage of this offer.
