Kansas State Athletics announced a contract extension for head baseball coach Pete Hughes that keeps him with the program through 2031. The decision follows a period of stability in which the team secured seven consecutive winning seasons.

Why it matters

The extension rewards Hughes for establishing a competitive culture that recently led the program to back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances in 2024 and 2025. It provides long-term continuity for a program that has seen significant growth in both win totals and professional player development.
