Pete Crow-Armstrong won the National League Platinum Glove award Friday night, and the Chicago Cubs won the NL team Gold Glove. The Platinum Glove is decided by fan voting among the 10 Gold Glove winners in each league.
Why it matters
Crow-Armstrong is the second Cub to win the Platinum Glove since Rawlings introduced the award in 2011, following Anthony Rizzo in 2016. It was also his second consecutive Gold Glove, underscoring the Cubs' defensive strength.
Crow-Armstrong's Platinum Glove came from fan voting among the 10 Gold Glove winners in the National League. The Cubs' team Gold Glove marks their third win since Rawlings first awarded it in 2020, and their second in a row.

The Big Picture

Crow-Armstrong's second straight Gold Glove and Platinum Glove strengthen his case for the NL MVP, which is announced Thursday. For fantasy managers, his defensive recognition reflects a strong glove profile in the Cubs outfield.
The takeaway
Crow-Armstrong's back-to-back Gold Gloves and Platinum Glove signal that his defense is now a defining part of his profile. Watch Thursday's NL MVP announcement to see whether that recognition carries into the league's top individual honor.
What happens next
The National League MVP announcement is scheduled for Thursday, November 12, 2026, and Crow-Armstrong could be the unanimous winner.
