Why it matters

The retail space was created to help residents incorporate unique, globally sourced items into their homes without requiring the owner to travel for individual design appointments.

The details

Peacock Home operates as a brick-and-mortar storefront situated directly above the Hostess gift shop and wine bar. Owner Erika Basher personally sources the shop's eclectic inventory by traveling to countries including Morocco, Italy, and France rather than buying in mass quantities.

Peacock Home officially opened its doors on October 1, 2026.
The shop plans to host interior design consultations on Saturdays.

Culture Shift

The shop capitalizes on a growing consumer preference for curated, artisan goods over mass-produced furniture. This shift highlights a departure from standardized home aesthetics toward unique, globally inspired decor.

Shoppers can visit the new store to browse curated furniture and art that were previously unavailable locally. Interested residents can also book one-hour consultations on Saturdays to receive personalized decor guidance.

The takeaway

Small-scale retail spaces provide homeowners with access to unique, international items that mass-market stores often overlook. Residents can elevate their home decor by focusing on quality pieces sourced directly from artisan markets.
