Season Trajectory

Palmer's debut marks the beginning of his campaign to secure a spot in the Charles Schwab Cup playoffs. He currently sits outside the top 72 rankings needed for the postseason, making every high finish in these final events vital for his standings.

Palmer needs at least one tournament victory and an additional high-place finish to break into the top 72 money earners required for playoff qualification. Television viewers can catch the tape-delayed broadcast of Friday's action from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

The takeaway

Players transitioning to the Champions tour must quickly adapt to the high-stakes qualification math required for postseason play. Consistency remains the most important factor for veterans aiming to extend their careers in the senior ranks.
