Gold Star Sports Management said client Egor Surin will sign with the Nashville Predators after his KHL season and move to the United States at its conclusion. Surin was selected by Nashville in the 2024 NHL first round.
Why it matters
The planned move would bring a 20-year-old prospect from a two-time Gagarin Cup champion organization to the Predators' pipeline. It reflects the continued flow of Russian-developed players toward North American rosters.
Surin has 6 goals and 13 points through 22 games this season, compared with 15 goals and 37 points in 57 games last season for Yaroslavl. He is 20 years old and was drafted in the 2024 NHL first round.

The details
Milstein told David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period that Surin will sign with Nashville and join the team once his current contract with Yaroslavl concludes. Surin made his professional debut with Yaroslavl's KHL team at age 17 and has been part of two Gagarin Cup winning rosters in 2025 and 2026.
Timeline
November 8, 2026: Milstein's comments about Surin's signing plans were reported.
End of the 2026 KHL season: Surin is set to sign with Nashville and move to the United States.
Beginning of next season: Surin is expected to join the Predators if everything goes well.
Roadmap
Surin's planned move follows a recurring pattern of young KHL players, drafted by NHL teams, transitioning to North America once their Russian contracts expire. The arrangement places the Predators in line to add a prospect from one of the league's most decorated recent clubs.
If the signing goes through, Surin would be a Predators prospect for fantasy and prospect rankings heading into next season. Nashville fans tracking the team's development pipeline would have a new young center to watch.
The takeaway
Prospect movement between the KHL and the NHL often depends on contract timelines, so signings like this one tend to be set in advance. Readers following Nashville's prospects should watch for the official announcement once Surin's KHL season ends.
What happens next
Surin is expected to conclude his KHL season and join the Predators at the beginning of next season if the planned signing proceeds.
