Updated on Nov. 6, 2026 in Football
The San Francisco 49ers host the Las Vegas Raiders at Levi's Stadium on Sunday in a Week 9 matchup. The game pits brothers Klay Kubiak, the 49ers offensive coordinator, against Klint Kubiak, the Raiders head coach.
Why it matters
The matchup marks a notable family rivalry on the sidelines, with the brothers having coached against each other three times in 2025. It also highlights a shared coaching history that began together on Kyle Shanahan's 49ers staff in 2023.
Brock Purdy's 2023 season with Klint as passing game coordinator produced 31 touchdown passes, 4,280 passing yards and a 113 passer rating, his single-season career highs. The brothers' three 2025 meetings were the only prior head-to-head coaching matchups reported, and the source does not say how those games turned out.
