BP Pulse Joins ChargeHub Roaming Network

BP Pulse has integrated its nearly 900 U.S. DC fast chargers into the ChargeHub roaming network, so drivers can access them through the ChargeHub app rather than the BP Pulse app. ChargeHub says it is the largest roaming network in North America.

Why it matters

The integration lets drivers locate, access, and pay for BP Pulse chargers alongside stalls from dozens of other operators in one app. It also gives ChargeHub users real-time information on available ports and connector types.

Roughly a third of BP Pulse's 874 fast chargers have NACS connectors, while most stalls have CCS1 connectors. BP Pulse pricing ranges from $0.33 to $0.65 per kilowatt-hour, and Plug & Charge works only for Ford and BMW vehicles on its fastest stalls.

The players

BP Pulse

BP Pulse is the electric vehicle charging business of BP, the British energy company, operating fast-charging stations across the United States.

ChargeHub

ChargeHub is a roaming platform for electric vehicle charging that lets drivers find and pay for sessions across many charging networks through a single app.

The details

Drivers can now use the ChargeHub app to find BP Pulse stalls, see live port availability and connector types, and pay on-site or through the app. Chargers at BP Pulse sites include on-site credit card readers, and the largest site, in Inglewood, California, has 48 stalls.

Timeline

Roadmap

The roaming integration reflects the ongoing shift toward NACS connectors in North America, where roughly a third of BP Pulse's fast chargers now have them while most still use CCS1. It also signals consolidation in EV charging, as networks increasingly rely on shared roaming platforms to reach drivers.

Drivers who already use the ChargeHub app can now find and pay for BP Pulse chargers without downloading a separate app. The mix of CCS1 and NACS connectors means drivers should check the app for the connector type their vehicle needs before arriving.

The takeaway

Check the ChargeHub app for the connector type and live availability before you drive to a BP Pulse station. Compare per-kilowatt-hour prices, since they range from $0.33 to $0.65 across the network.
