Updated on Nov. 1, 2026 in Holiday Music
Mariah Carey released her annual 'It's Time' holiday video on November 1, 2026, opening with a performance of 'Hermit' before shifting to a winter scene. The video also marks the start of 'All I Want for Christmas Is You' at its end, as Ella Langley's 'Choosin' Texas' has surpassed it for the most weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Why it matters
The release places Carey's seasonal catalog back in the spotlight during a race for a chart record that has long been associated with her 1994 holiday single. Ella Langley's 25 total weeks at No. 1 now stand ahead of the 22 non-consecutive weeks held by 'All I Want for Christmas Is You.'
'Choosin' Texas' has logged 25 total weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, compared with 22 non-consecutive weeks for 'All I Want for Christmas Is You,' which spent four weeks at No. 1 in both 2024 and 2025. Whether the Carey single regains the record remains unresolved and hinges on Langley's chart performance in November.

Industry Dynamics

The video is available to watch on Carey's official channels, and listeners can stream 'All I Want for Christmas Is You' during the holiday season. Chart standings will continue to shift through November as Ella Langley's 'Choosin' Texas' remains on the Billboard Hot 100.
