Reconciled Software, LLC released Holier, a Catholic confession app for iPhone, now available on the App Store. The app is built on conversation with an AI companion and organizes a confession list by the seven deadly sins.

Why it matters

Many Catholics confess the same sins repeatedly and go unprepared to Confession, which Holier is designed to address. The app offers a digital tool for examining conscience and preparing for the sacrament in the United States.

Holier is free to download on the App Store and offers a paid subscription. The app includes a passcode lock and tracks days since the last Confession and last examen with a daily reminder.

The details

Users talk through their day or a temptation with the AI companion, and the confession list is drafted from those conversations. The confession list is encrypted on the iPhone with a key that never leaves the device, and conversations are processed to power the companion but not stored.

Religious Tools

Holier is distributed through Apple's App Store, placing a Catholic examination-of-conscience tool alongside other faith-focused apps on iPhone. Its AI-driven approach extends digital devotional tools into the sacramental preparation process.

Catholics in the United States can download Holier for free on iPhone and use its passcode lock and daily reminders to track Confession and examen. Users can build a confession list by talking through their day with the AI companion.

The takeaway

Reviewing your sins before Confession can be easier with a structured list organized by the seven deadly sins. Keeping a regular examen habit may help you prepare more thoroughly for the sacrament.
