R&B artist Kelela has released her latest studio album, New Avatar. The project features collaborations including a track with producer PinkPantheress.
Why it matters
Kelela delayed the inclusion of specific tracks like Outta Time for years to ensure the production matched her precise vision for the album. She maintains that total creative control over her sonic environments is essential to her artistic process.
Kelela spent years developing the project, with the song Outta Time dating back to a 2017 conception. The album follows her previous work, including the 2015 Hallucinogen EP.
