WWE has released wrestler Jimmy House from its Independent Development program, ending his seven-month tenure with the organization. House, who competed as CJ Valor on the WWE EVOLVE brand, confirmed his departure to Fightful Select.

Why it matters

The release is part of a wider series of departures from the developmental roster, which also saw talents such as Laynie Luck and Marcus Mathers exit the company. House's departure follows his recent announcement that he would return to his previous independent wrestling moniker.

House spent seven months in the WWE Independent Development program following his signing in March 2026. The contract signing occurred two months after his participation in tryouts in Orlando.

During his time with the organization, House received training from veteran Sean "X-Pac" Waltman and guidance regarding his contract from Gabe Sapolsky. He performed under the ring name CJ Valor for the WWE EVOLVE brand until his confirmation of the release.

Roadmap

This move highlights the volatile nature of the WWE developmental system, where rosters are frequently reshuffled to manage talent depth. It follows a historical trend of the company periodically trimming developmental ranks to refine its talent focus.

Fans who followed his tenure as CJ Valor on WWE EVOLVE can now expect to see him return to the independent circuit under his former name. This change signals an immediate shift in the availability of the talent for regional wrestling bookings across the country.

The takeaway

Professional wrestlers often cycle through developmental programs as they refine their personas and athletic skills. Wrestlers like House demonstrate the transient nature of these contracts as athletes seek the best platform for their career longevity.
