Syfy Cancels Sci-Fi Series Revival After One Season

Live Poll

Do you prefer to wait until a series has multiple seasons before you start watching?

Syfy has officially canceled the series Revival following its inaugural season. The show, which is an adaptation of a comic book series by Tim Seeley and Mike Norton, aired its finale in August 2025.

Why it matters

The cancellation marks a shift in Syfy's current programming lineup, leaving the network with fewer original scripted series on its schedule.

The series produced one season before its cancellation. This move leaves The Ark, which concluded its third season in October 2026, as the network's remaining original series.

She is an actress and director who is widely known for her leading role as Wynonna Earp in the series of the same name.

The details

Starring Melanie Scrofano alongside David James Elliot, Romy Weltman, and Andy McQueen, the show was based on the comic series of the same name. The narrative was set in Wisconsin.

August 2025: Revival aired its season one finale.
October 14, 2026: The Ark finished its third season.
October 20, 2026: The cancellation of Revival was reported.

Industry Dynamics

This cancellation reflects the broader trend of cable networks streamlining their scripted content portfolios in favor of established hits. The move leaves The Ark, which concluded its third season in 2026, as a key remaining pillar of the network's original programming strategy.

Fans will not see a second season of the show on Syfy following this cancellation. Viewers looking for continued science fiction content on the network can still follow the progress of The Ark.

The takeaway

This decision signals that the network is consolidating its resources behind a narrower slate of original content. Viewers should prepare for shifts in programming as the network prioritizes its remaining scripted series.
