OnePlus has confirmed that its OnePlus Open foldable smartphone is compatible with the Oppo Pen, an accessory typically marketed for Oppo Find N3 and N2 models. This makes the OnePlus Open the only device in the company's current lineup to offer functional stylus support.
Why it matters
The confirmation provides users with a new input option that was not previously listed in official marketing materials. Expanding the utility of a foldable device through peripheral compatibility allows owners to leverage existing accessories for increased productivity.
The Oppo Pen functions as an input device for the OnePlus Open, despite the accessory being designed specifically for the Oppo Find N3 and Oppo Find N2 phones.

The Tech Race
The integration of the Oppo Pen into the OnePlus Open highlights the convergence of hardware ecosystems between brands sharing common manufacturing roots. This move bridges gaps between previously distinct mobile lineups and challenges competitors to provide similar cross-device accessory support.
Owners of the OnePlus Open can now expand their device utility by purchasing an Oppo Pen to enable stylus features. Users should be aware that the device does not work with the OnePlus Stylo, so they must specifically source the Oppo-branded peripheral.
The takeaway
Using the Oppo Pen with your OnePlus Open can unlock new ways to interact with your foldable screen and improve workflow. Ensure you have the correct stylus model to guarantee connectivity with your handset.
