Dell has launched the new 14S laptop, a budget-friendly device designed as an alternative to the MacBook Neo. The baseline model starts at $650, with a discounted student price of $550 available.
Why it matters
The 14S serves as a direct, affordable competitor to higher-end models like the MacBook Neo. By targeting the student market and offering a sub-$700 price point, Dell aims to capture budget-conscious consumers seeking performance in a lightweight package.
The Dell 14S (model DS14270) weighs 2.5 pounds and features an Intel Core 5 320 CPU with 8GB of RAM and a 256GB SSD. The 14-inch display offers a 1,920x1,200-pixel resolution and reached a maximum of 403 nits in testing.
