Orange Joins Quantum-Safe eSIM Provisioning Program
Orange has joined the In-Factory Profile Provisioning program developed by Acceleronix and IDEMIA Secure Transactions for flexible single-SKU device manufacturing.
Updated on Nov. 4, 2026 in Quantum Computing

Acceleronix, IDEMIA Secure Transactions and Orange announced that Orange has joined the quantum-safe In-Factory Profile Provisioning (IFPP) program, which lets device makers load operator profiles onto eSIMs at the end of their own production lines.
Why it matters
Most connected devices share a weak spot in provisioning and testing on the production line, and the program aims to close that gap for manufacturers worldwide. Limited power and battery space also make in-field profile downloads harder in some use cases.
The MFF4 eSIM measures 2 x 2 mm, roughly 87% smaller than the MFF2 format it is designed to replace in many devices. The IFPP solution runs on existing eSIM IoT (SGP.32) infrastructure, and the detailed commercial rollout schedule has not been disclosed.
The players
Orange
Orange is one of the world's leading telecom operators, serving 340 million customers across 26 countries and reporting 2025 revenues of 40.4 billion euros.
IDEMIA Secure Transactions
IDEMIA Secure Transactions is the secure-payments and identity arm of the IDEMIA Group, which employs about 10,700 people and serves roughly 2,000 financial institutions.
Acceleronix
Acceleronix is the company that developed the IFPP Loader and factory orchestration tools used to integrate profile provisioning into existing device production lines.
The details
Under IFPP, OEMs load the operator profile onto the eSIM at the end of their own production line, with Acceleronix supplying the IFPP Loader and factory orchestration tools that plug into existing lines. The framework follows the GSMA SGP.41 specification, and OEMs can move to SGP.42 once its detailed technical specification is published. Trial kits are available for device makers.
Timeline
February 2026: IFPP program jointly launched by Acceleronix and IDEMIA Secure Transactions at MWC Barcelona.
10 to 13 November 2026: Live IFPP demonstration at electronica 2026 in Munich, Hall C2, Stand 601.
The Tech Race
IFPP follows the GSMA SGP.41 framework and positions OEMs to adopt SGP.42 once its detailed specification is published, extending a standards track that has shaped eSIM adoption since its introduction. Quantum-safe provisioning reflects a wider industry push to harden device identity against future cryptographic threats.
Device makers can provision eSIMs on their own production lines without relying on in-field downloads, which may simplify testing and shipping for connected products. Trial kits are available now for OEMs evaluating the approach.
The takeaway
Provisioning security is moving earlier in the manufacturing process, so device makers evaluating eSIM rollouts should review how profile loading fits into their existing production lines.
What happens next
Acceleronix and IDEMIA Secure Transactions will demonstrate the IFPP solution at electronica 2026 from 10 to 13 November 2026 in Munich.
