Valtra has introduced its sixth-generation T series tractor in the mid-sized horsepower segment, an almost complete redesign covering the engine, operator interface and platform. Agriland understands 57 of the machines are set to come to Ireland.
Why it matters
The line is a finalist in the 2027 Tractor Of The Year awards MidPower category and is built with professional farmers and agricultural contractors in mind. Its engine and transmission options aim to meet demanding field work.
The six models deliver 170-245hp and 814-1184Nm of top torque from a 7.5L AGCO Power Core 75 six-cylinder engine, with the CVT or PowerShift transmission topping out at 57km/h. The cab offers 6.22m2 of window area and restricts noise to 69dB.
The players
Valtra
Valtra is a Finnish tractor brand whose sixth-generation T series is the subject of this launch.
AGCO
AGCO is a global agricultural machinery manufacturer whose Power Core 75 engine powers the new T series.
The details
The cab features a 12-inch customisable SmartTouch Gen2 touchscreen, and the Unlimited Ultra package adds automatic air conditioning, AutoComfort cab air suspension and heated mirrors. The Active Gen2 armrest has a modular design that allows upgrades such as the Parker joystick.
Timeline

Roadmap
The T series reuses the AGCO Power Core 75 engine first used in the Fendt Gen7 700 series, extending that platform into Valtra's mid-sized range. The move reflects how shared drivetrains across sister brands are becoming a route to modernising mid-horsepower tractors.
Farmers and contractors weighing mid-sized tractors can compare the six power options, from 170hp to 245hp, against their workloads. Buyers choosing between CVT and PowerShift transmissions will see a top speed of 57km/h on either option.
The takeaway
Buyers evaluating mid-horsepower tractors should match engine output and transmission choice to their field tasks before comparing optional cab and comfort packages. Upgrade paths such as the modular armrest can extend a machine's useful life.
