The retailer FNAC has leaked details regarding an unannounced LEGO Art set featuring a recreation of Vincent van Gogh's famous Almond Blossom painting. The set consists of 2,903 pieces and is intended for builders aged 18 and older.
Why it matters
The leak provides fans an early glimpse into the expansion of the popular LEGO Art series, which has previously featured other works by the artist. It confirms that the company continues to focus on fine art themes for its adult-oriented product lines.
The new set 31222 carries a listed price of €199.99. It is designed as an 18+ building experience within the LEGO Art theme.
The players
FNAC
A French retail chain that specializes in electronics and cultural products.
Vincent van Gogh
A Dutch Post-Impressionist painter whose works serve as the inspiration for the new LEGO Art set.
LEGO
A global manufacturer of interlocking plastic bricks and construction toys.
The details
A LEGO enthusiast discovered the premature product page on the FNAC website in late October 2026 before the entry was removed. The set marks another addition to the company's growing collection of art-inspired buildable displays.
Timeline
Late October 2026: The FNAC listing was live and then pulled.
January 1, 2027: Scheduled release date for LEGO set 31222.
May 1, 2027: Rumored release date for LEGO set 31224.
Culture Shift
This release follows the pattern of transforming famous impressionist paintings into detailed construction kits established by the LEGO Art set 21333 Starry Night. The ongoing focus on high-piece-count art recreations reflects a shift toward complex, display-oriented builds for adults.
Collectors should expect the set to retail for approximately $199.99 in the U.S. market once it officially launches. Enthusiasts can use the piece count and projected price to begin budgeting for the 2,903-piece set ahead of its 2027 arrival.
The takeaway
The move reinforces the trend of premium, art-centric building sets tailored to adult hobbyists. Enthusiasts waiting for this model should note that rumor mills already point to additional releases arriving later in the spring of 2027.
What happens next
The set is currently scheduled for an official commercial release on January 1, 2027.
