Dune: Awakening has introduced a special Halloween-themed event titled The Scourge. Players in the Hagga Basin can participate by completing quests assigned by Frida Maltros.
Why it matters
The event provides a seasonal experience for players while building anticipation for the upcoming Dune: Part Three film. A promotional partnership with Fandango also connects in-game activities to future theater attendance.
Players can earn various cosmetics, emotes, and decorations through this event. Those who purchase Fandango tickets will receive two specific digital rewards, Paul Atreides' Throne and the Navigator Sarcophagus, in December 2026.
The players
Frida Maltros
She serves as the non-player character who initiates the event quest line for players.
Fandango
This ticketing service provider is partnering with the game for a cross-promotional campaign tied to a film release.
The details
To start the event, users must travel to a trade station to speak with Frida Maltros and begin the quest chain. Participants are tasked with hunting infected figures throughout the Hagga Basin and returning their blood samples to receive rewards.
Timeline
The Scourge event begins on October 23, 2026.
The event concludes on November 2, 2026.
Promotional movie ticket rewards will be delivered in December 2026.
Industry Dynamics
This seasonal event highlights the industry trend of integrating live-service gaming elements with major cinematic franchise releases. It positions the game as an extension of the broader Dune media ecosystem rather than a standalone title.
Players can log in through November 2, 2026, to earn event-exclusive cosmetic items and swatches. Those planning to see the upcoming movie should check their Fandango purchase status to ensure eligibility for the December digital rewards.
The takeaway
Engaging with limited-time events allows players to acquire unique assets that will not be available once the event expires. Keep track of specific event calendars to ensure you do not miss seasonal windows for in-game content.
What happens next
Players who purchase Fandango movie tickets can expect their digital rewards to be delivered in December 2026.
