EPG presented its AI Core and Edge POD data center solutions at Data Centre World Asia 2026, held on September 29-30, 2026. The company also unveiled the AeroLev 1850, a new air-cooled, magnetic-bearing chiller platform developed with partner MagPro.
Why it matters
As AI computing demands drive a surge in power density, data centers require more efficient cooling systems. These technologies address the specific challenges of water-scarce, high-ambient environments where traditional cooling infrastructure often struggles.
The AeroLev 1850 platform supports chilled-water outlet temperatures up to 45°C, while the Edge POD solution is engineered for 1-10 MW applications. EPG also maintains a total research and engineering workforce of 300 staff.
The players
EPG
EPG is a provider of modular data center infrastructure solutions that employs 1,600 people globally.
MagPro
MagPro is a joint venture company that operates a 6,000 square meter production facility and 2,000 kW capacity air-cooled laboratories.
The details
The AeroLev 1850 chiller integrates oil-free magnetic-levitation technology with intelligent controls to enhance operational efficiency. EPG utilizes standardized modules and factory prefabrication processes to significantly shorten the deployment time required for data center builds.
Timeline
May 2026: MagPro was established as a joint venture.
September 29-30, 2026: Data Centre World Asia 2026 was held in Singapore.
October 21, 2026: EPG issued a press release regarding the exhibition.
The Tech Race
The transition to magnetic-bearing chiller technology represents a significant evolution away from traditional oil-lubricated cooling systems. This innovation positions firms like EPG to capture market share by addressing the cooling constraints inherent in modern, high-density AI infrastructure.
Data center operators can anticipate improved cooling efficiency and lower water usage requirements when utilizing these new modular systems. These advancements help streamline site construction, potentially reducing the lead times required for bringing new AI computing capacity online.
The takeaway
Efficiency in thermal management is becoming the defining factor for the scalability of AI-focused infrastructure. Operators should prioritize modular, magnetic-bearing cooling solutions to maintain performance in high-ambient, resource-constrained locations.
