Bigme has officially unveiled the HiBreak Dual 3, a new smartphone that pairs a 6.13-inch color e-ink display with a detachable 5-inch magnetic LCD screen. Pre-orders are now open for the handset, which runs on the Android 16 operating system.
Why it matters
The introduction of the HiBreak Dual 3 offers users a hybrid hardware experience by combining the battery efficiency of e-ink technology with a high-performance secondary display. This design aims to provide flexibility for tasks requiring different screen types on a single mobile device.
The HiBreak Dual 3 is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 8300 processor, supporting up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. The 6.13-inch e-ink display provides 300 PPI density in black-and-white mode with an 85FPS refresh rate, backed by a 4,450mAh battery.

Users can expand the internal 512GB storage capacity by an additional 2TB via a TF card slot to accommodate large media libraries. The 30W charging support allows for relatively quick power replenishment for the 4,450mAh battery during daily use.
The takeaway
The HiBreak Dual 3 demonstrates that specialized e-ink displays are finding a niche alongside traditional smartphone components. Prospective buyers should consider whether their primary mobile workflow benefits more from the low-power readability of e-ink or the versatility of a detachable LCD screen.
