• The smallest countries by population size are island nations or territories such as Montserrat (4.9K) and Saint Pierre and Miquelon (5.8K), giving a perspective of the immense population range within North America.
• Linguistic and cultural division between Anglo-America and Latin America is also reflected in the population trends. Countries where English is the predominant language, such as the United States and Canada, have sizeable populations. In contrast, Latin American countries vary, with some like Mexico having large populations, and others like El Salvador and Costa Rica having mid-range populations.
